Year 3

Graduate-level systematic theology, advanced Christology, biblical Greek and Hebrew, advanced hermeneutics and exegesis, and the history of Oneness Pentecostalism.

Term 1: Advanced Theology & Languages — Year 3 · Term 1

  • GRK-201: New Testament Greek I (3 credits)
Introduction to biblical Greek: the alphabet, basic grammar, and enough vocabulary to start using original-language tools instead of relying only on English translations.
  • THE-201: Advanced Systematic Theology I: Scripture & God (3 credits)
A more technical look at the doctrine of Scripture — inspiration, inerrancy, canon — and the doctrine of God, stated with full theological precision.
  • THE-202: Advanced Christology (3 credits)
A graduate-level study of who Jesus Christ is: the incarnation, and a careful, historically informed answer to charges like modalism sometimes brought against the Oneness position.
  • HIS-201: History of Christian Doctrine (3 credits)
How core Christian doctrines, especially the Godhead, were formally defined from the patristic era through the Reformation and into the modern creeds.
  • RES-201: Research Methods & Theological Writing (3 credits)
How to write a graduate-level paper: forming a thesis question, finding and evaluating sources, citing properly, and building an argument that holds up.

Term 2: Biblical Languages & Exegesis — Year 3 · Term 2

  • HEB-201: Old Testament Hebrew I (3 credits)
Introduction to biblical Hebrew: the alphabet, basic grammar, and enough vocabulary to begin using Hebrew tools alongside your English Bible.
  • BIB-201: Advanced Hermeneutics & Exegesis (3 credits)
Building on BIB-101, producing full exegetical papers — from the original-language text, through historical and literary context, to a defensible interpretation.
  • THE-203: Pneumatology II: The Initial Evidence Debate (3 credits)
A deeper historical and theological look at Spirit baptism evidenced by tongues, and how continuationist and cessationist Christians outside Pentecostalism read the same texts.
  • MIS-201: Missiology: Theology & Practice of Missions (3 credits)
The biblical basis for cross-cultural missions and practical principles for planting and sustaining a congregation in a new cultural or linguistic context.
  • COU-201: Pastoral Counseling & Care (3 credits)
Ethically bounded counseling skills for a minister — active listening, grief support, marriage and family conflict — and recognizing when to refer someone to a licensed professional.
